Linda's story
Driving north on Hwy 101, lanes crowded but moving at speed limit. I was in the fast lane with a ditch on my left. Suddenly the car in front of me slammed on the brakes. I slammed on mine. I'm sure I could have stopped in time to avoid hitting the car in front of me, but I was worried that the car behind me wouldn't stop in time to keep from hitting me. Because of the Smart's size, I was able to pull off to the left side of the lane, almost next to the car in front of me, giving the car behind me plenty of room to stop. I couldn't have done that in a regular sized car.
