In October of 2008, while stopped on Sunset Bl. waiting to make a left turn, I looked in the rear-view mirror to see trouble coming my way in a big hurry. I had time to say a few expletives when I was rear ended by an F350 Pickup going at about 45 mph.. I was hit so hard that my hat and sunglasses were thrown off. I was pushed into oncoming traffic but the smart car enabled me to maneuver out of the intersection and away from the possibility of being T-boned. I had the wind knocked out of me. I was shaking badly, and my tailbone felt as if I had been hit by a sledge hammer. I had been asked by friends and family how safe I felt in a smart car, but I know its engineering saved my life. I was OK!!! The car was totaled, and so was the F350. The smart looked better than the pickup after the accident. I feel lucky that I survived an accident as violent and where the weight difference was so great.

Thank you.
