Alan's story
The last thing I remember seeing before being rear-ended, was the part in the young lady's hair visible just above her steering wheel. She was reaching down to retrieve the ringing cell phone that had just slipped off her lap. She wasn't stopping, slowing, or "passing go." Wham... right into the back of our Smart.
It was a good enough smack to whip our heads back, and when the Paramedics came, they suggested my wife be transported to the hospital for an MRI just to make sure nothing was broken. She's fine (may need a few Chiropractor visits)... I'm fine... and the damage to the Smart is really pretty minor considering the impact. And the best thing is that the damaged body panels will simply be removed and replaced with ones fresh from the factory. No "bondo" or painting required.
It makes me sad to see by perfect little car damaged. But it's nice to know the repair will make it as good as new.
