Sue's story
I purchased my Smart on my way to IKEA one beautiful Saturday morning. I spent that evening and the whole next day driving it with the top both open and closed, testing gas mileage and just out and out having fun!
Monday came and I went to work, downtown Orlando, parking in a safe covered garage. On my way home, not even 10 minutes on the 408, traffic came to a stop, as usual. behind me, an SUV did not stop and rear ended me throwing me into an SUV in front of me. Yes, that's right, I was an SUV sandwich.
Visibly, no damage to the rear and very minimal to the front, nothing that duct tape could not fix to get me home. The Road Ranger had the tape but honestly, I think it should be standard equipment in the Smart.
Wow! What a ride, I love it, I feel safe in it and would recommend one to anyone and already have! As a matter of fact, I'm sure there are many drivers out there, including the two I was involved in the sandwich with, that believe the Smart is much safer than they originally thought. Seeing it firsthand can be quite convincing!
